ABOUT DARE 2 DANCE IN PUBLIC FILM FESTIVAL

Dare to Dance in Public Film Festival (D2D) is a Los Angeles based organization
dedicated to democratizing dance, and elevating the international genre of Dance Film
(aka Screen Dance) as a singular and universal art form.

Along with international films from upwards of 50 countries, D2D also presents free, live
|site-specific dance performances by LA based dance makers
as a regular and integral feature of our Festival. 

 

D2D champions dance - in all its forms - that transforms quotidian civic spaces into
vibrant cultural stages, and we think cities are great platforms for that to happen. 
As such, D2D is committed to bringing dance into the civic sphere, presenting dance to and from underrepresented local and global voices, and fostering deep connections within the community. Through a fusion of artistic excellence, international reach, and community engagement, D2D creates accessible cultural programming that reflects our shared humanity, using the universal language of dance to speak about what it is to be
alive and human in the world today.
